How I Eliminated 15+ Hours of Weekly Ad Reporting with Automated Attribution Pipelines

Talented strategists reduced to copy-paste machines. I built automated ad analytics and reporting workflows for a high-growth ad agency, a multi-brand ecommerce group, and a leading performance marketing agency that gave them their time back.

How I Eliminated 15+ Hours of Weekly Ad Reporting with Automated Attribution Pipelines - Technical Architecture
Technical ArchitectureAnalytics & Reporting

Every week, digital marketing teams burn hours pulling numbers from Google Ads, cross-referencing Facebook campaigns, and stitching together attribution data in spreadsheets. I know because I watched it happen firsthand - talented strategists reduced to copy-paste machines. When clients like a high-growth ad agency, a multi-brand ecommerce group, and a leading performance marketing agency came to me with this exact pain point, I built a suite of automated ad analytics and reporting workflows that gave them their time back.

The Problem: Manual Reporting Is a Silent Profit Killer

Running paid media across Google and Facebook means juggling multiple dashboards, each with its own metrics, time zones, and attribution windows. For agencies managing several client accounts, the weekly reporting cycle alone can consume 15 or more hours of skilled labor. Worse, manual processes introduce errors. A misattributed conversion or a delayed report can lead to poor budget decisions that cost thousands in wasted ad spend.

The real cost is not just the hours. It is the strategic opportunities missed while your team is buried in spreadsheets instead of optimizing campaigns.

The Solution: End-to-End Automated Attribution and Reporting

I designed and deployed five core workflows that together form a complete ad analytics engine:

Google Ads Attribution - Pulls campaign, ad group, and keyword-level data from the Google Ads API, then maps each conversion back to its source with multi-touch attribution logic.

Facebook Ads Attribution - Mirrors the Google workflow for Facebook, normalizing metrics so clients can compare performance across platforms in a single view.

7-Day Facebook and Google Reports - Every Monday morning, clients receive a polished, auto-generated weekly report delivered to Google Docs, covering spend, ROAS, CPA, and conversion trends with no human intervention.

Ad Data Triggers - Monitors live campaign performance against custom thresholds. When CPA spikes or ROAS drops below target, the system fires an alert so the team can react in hours instead of days.

Funnel Data Attribution - Tracks the full buyer journey from first click to final conversion, connecting top-of-funnel awareness campaigns to bottom-of-funnel revenue.

Tools and Tech Stack

Each workflow was built using n8n and Make.com as orchestration platforms, connecting to the Google Ads API and Facebook Ads API for raw data extraction. Processed data flows into Google Sheets for structured storage and into Google Docs for formatted client-facing reports.

Results and Business Impact

The numbers speak for themselves:

  • 15+ hours per week reclaimed across client teams, redirected from manual reporting to strategy and optimization.
  • Real-time attribution tracking replaced end-of-week guesswork, enabling faster budget reallocation decisions.
  • Automated weekly client reports delivered consistently every Monday, eliminating missed deadlines and formatting inconsistencies.
  • Proactive alerting on performance anomalies reduced wasted spend by catching issues within hours rather than at the next reporting cycle.

Conclusion

Ad analytics should fuel decisions, not drain your team. By automating the entire pipeline from data extraction through attribution modeling to formatted reporting, I helped agencies like a high-growth ad agency, a multi-brand ecommerce group, and a leading performance marketing agency transform reporting from a weekly chore into a competitive advantage. If your team is still pulling ad data by hand, there is a better way - and I have built it.
