Onboard: Give every member setup step a clear checkpoint.

Onboard makes the member setup journey easy to follow from a won Close CRM opportunity through Airtable, Mighty Networks, Intercom and Slack. Its checkpoint interface brings stage status and failure handling into a clear operating view for the team.

What it does

  • Checkpoint interface mapping the Close CRM handoff to tracking, community, support and team notifications.
  • Stage and error views for inspecting individual member setup handoffs.
  • Local retry controls for working through failed checkpoint paths.

Why it matters

Gives onboarding operators a clear view of setup progress and the specific handoff that needs attention.

Build note

5+ manual setup steps. One CRM-triggered onboarding flow.
Source & context

Engagement documentation and dashboard source inspection.

Start from a won deal, not a reminder

The original workflow validates the opportunity status and email, fetches the CRM context and routes the member by program tier. The published description identifies five or more manual setup steps that this links together.

Give each setup step its own checkpoint

Airtable tracking, the Mighty Networks invitation, the Intercom profile and Slack notifications are distinct handoffs. The original source includes step-specific error paths, so the operator can identify what still needs attention.

Show the actual workflow, then the operating interface

The native n8n views come from the published JSON, with forty source nodes including five notes.

Price the manual baseline, then measure the reduction

$600 in manual work. That is a cost model, not an observed project saving. Completion time and the actual destination records need checking before claiming the achieved reduction.

Inside the system

  • Won-deal event Starts the documented provisioning journey.
  • Destination context Carries the member setup path across the named tools.
  • Stage visibility Source declares status, errors and searchable records.
  • Recovery review Source declares resubmission; live success requires a separate check.
